President William Ruto is currently attending an interdenominational prayer in Machakos County.
The President is accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua among other government officials.
The Lower Eastern Interreligious prayers are taking place at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos town.
Hundreds of faithful from various churches in Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties are in attendance.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti and her deputy Francis Mwangangi alongside several political leaders from the Ukambani region are hosting the president and his deputy.
Among the clergy presiding over the event are; Arch Bishop Arthur Kitonga of the Redeemed Gospel Church, Bishop Timothy Ndambuki of the African Brotherhood Church and their Catholic Diocese of Machakos counterpart Bishop Norman King’oo.
