Two guards killed, shops looted in Kisumu Robbery incident

Police in Kisumu are investigating an incident in which two-night guards were murdered and property worth unknown value stolen by thugs in Shops within Kisumu.
According to deputy OCPD Kisumu central Jackton Mango, the incident happened in Chichwa Market.
He said they got the information and rushed to the scene accompanied by officers from the DCI.
He said three electronic shops were broken into and property worth unknown value stolen.
Mango said the two watchmen were hit with a blunt object on the head and died on the spot.
“It’ seems like they were attacked while asleep because two of them were found on the seats.”
He assured members of the public that they will enhance security patrols during the night to ensure the protection of locals while doing their business.
Residents who spoke to the media condemned the incident saying it was unfortunate that two lives were lost and property worth unknown value stolen.
“Police should investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that the culprits are brought to book.”
The bodies were taken to the Kisumu County Hospital Morgue.
