Nyandarua: Three Arrested For Allegedly Selling Counterfeit Alcohol

Police in Nyandarua Central have arrested three suspects in connection with the distribution and sale of suspected counterfeit alcoholic drinks.

A consignment of the drinks and items believed to be used to make the drinks and label them were also nabbed during the operation.

According to Nyandarua Sub County Police Commander Stalla Cherono, police acting on a tip off from members of the public managed to apprehend one suspect off-loading some of the drinks from a private vehicle within Ol-Kalou town.

She added that at Mung’etho village the security officers arrested another suspect in connection with distributing unlicensed alcoholic drinks.

Speaking to the press in her office, the OCPD cautioned residents against consuming drinks without verifying their authenticity.

She also called on residents to partner with security agencies in the fight against illicit brews.
