Boys U11,U9 and U7 shows fantastic skills during the PIPSSA games

Yesterday PIPSSA staged a spectacular U11, U9 & U7 Boys Football Tournament that attracted 14 schools from a pool of International and private schools. The event was held at Crawford International School with about 500 participants who passionately displayed impressive soccer skills.

The teams participated in the group matches and later progressed to the knockout stages. Woodcreek School won U11 overall shield while Aga Khan Academy and Crawford International School walked away with U9 and U7 overall rotational Winner Shields respectively. The first three teams in each category were awarded customized medals and all players were further awarded Certificates of Participation in a colorful and glamorous awards giving ceremony which was witnessed by PIPSSA officials, coaches, director of schools, parents among other stakeholders. Moreover, PIPSSA has organized a similar format tournament next weekend at Woodcreek School but for the girls.

PIPSSA has managed to develop an excellent youth soccer league giving the junior soccer talents a great exposure at a tender age unlike other junior leagues in the country which are marred with massive age cheating. The vice is slowly killing soccer talents besides discouraging many young players from progressing with the popular sport.

Humphrey Kariuki, a former student at Potterhouse School Runda and playing in one of major league in Spanish used to play in PIPSSA tournaments that motivated him in a great way and became a profilic footballer player who has been called by the national team to play for the country U20. The young players are looking forward to progress and develop their talents by participating in the upcoming regional and international youth soccer tournaments such as London Cup and East African Chipkizi Cup and also the local ones in Nakuru and Nanyuki.
