TSC Interdicts 5 Kisii Teachers For Forcing Pupils To Simulate Sex

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has interdicted five teachers who were captured on a viral video forcing primary school pupils to simulate sex, in Itumbe Primary, Kisii county.

The footage showed four boys in school uniform simulating sexual acts under a tree in the school compound as the teachers watched, an incident that caused uproar.

The six captured were all in Grade 2.

TSC says the teachers in doing so have breached Clause 9 (1) of the Conduct for teachers, by actively participating, recording the video footage of the minors and circulating the same to social media, hence causing trauma, mental torture and embarrassment to the minors.

“You exposed the learners to indecent sexual acts by directing them to engage in inappropriate acts depicting homosexuality within the school compound, consequently you are hereby interdicted with effect from February 2nd 2023,” reads the letter.

The five have been invited to defend themselves through writing to the commission within 21 days, and will also be given an opportunity to be heard in person.

“You are therefore required to show cause why you should not be deregistered,” reads in part.

They are also to indicate the TSC Sub-County office where they will be required to report once a month, and present any other evidence to support their case.
