A man who allegedly met a businessman in a WhatsApp named “Local Transport Services” before they allegedly agreed to do some business has been charged with obtaining services contrary to the law.
Kenneth Kanithi Njumbi was charged before Kibera Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi where he denied the charges.
The court heard that the accused person committed the offence on diverse dates between April 4 and May 14 within Nairobi County and incurred a debt of Sh754,802 to George Kamau who is the complainant in the case.
The accused person before taking a plea had told the court to defer his case for a week to allow him to look for some legal representations.
“I urge my plea be differed so that I look for a legal representation,” he told the court.
His lawyer told the court to grant him lenient bond terms on the grounds that he had a medical condition.
The magistrate released him on a cash bail of Sh200,000 with the surety of the same amount.
The case will be mentioned on September 26 for a pre-trial.
