A survey conducted by Kenyamiror, a fast growing online news publication shows that, Kenya’s first female oncologist and Cancer specialist Expert Dr . Catherine Nyongesa has done enough to bring back life and hope to the cancer patients in the country.
Most of the respondents who participated in the survey were from Nairobi, Nakuru and western Counties. They called on the State, business community and international partners to accord her the suport she needs to achieve her goals.
In a survey conducted between May 15 to August 4, Nyongesa was aplauded by over 9000 Kenyans out of the 12,000 Kenyans who participated in the survey.
Majority of the participants says that her facility, Texas Cancer centre had changed lives and also brought happiness to the families.
” Yes she is Co- founder of the Texas Cancer centre, her facility has qualified personel and it is there where cancer patients are attended to, she has various project like cancer awareness programs, free screening which has helped reduce the menace,” said Albert Nyakundi a participant.
More participants pointed out her simplicity and flexibility as an advantage over others.
Nyongesa has in the recent days urged the government to put in more resources in cancer mitigation programs.
