Secretary General of Kenya Taekwondo Federation George Wasonga was on Thursday charged before a Nairobi court with forging signatures in a sports tribunal case.
Wasonga was accused that on or before July 5,2021 at unknown place, jointly with others not before court forged a supporting affidavit in a Disputes Tribunal Case of 2021 purporting it to have been signed by John Muleshe.
He was further charged that on the same dates he forged the supporting affidavit in the name of Muleshe in the Tribunal case purporting it to have been commissioned before J .Ocharo an advocate and commissioner for oath.
The court heard Wasonga knowingly and fraudulently uttered the forged affidavit in the Sports Tribunal on or before July 7, 2021 at unknown place.
He was further accused that in a judicial proceeding at the sports tribunal where he is mentioned as a respondent, he knowingly gave false testimony touching on a matter which was material to a question then pending an appeal at the Tribunal against the decision by the Kenya Taekwondo Federation to drop him as the coach of the national team.
Wasonga denied the charges with three other counts facing him before Milimani senior principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.
He pleaded for lenient bond terms and was released on a cash bail of Sh200,000 or a bond of Sh500,000.
The case will be mentioned after two weeks.
