Police in riot gear have turned up in Kisii town streets to foil the planned anti government protests by Azimio.
By 11. 00 am, however , there was still calm with no protester on sight as anticipated. .
Regional ODM chair Kerosi Ondieki had billed the protests to be massive during an interview with the Star on Sunday . .
He however had not turned up by 11.30 to lead the same protests.
Ondieki had told the Star by phone that the protests would go on as planned. .
“Am on the way, we have not abandoned the protests yet ,” Ondieki told the Star.
The protests were to start from the Capital Round About where police quickly moved into and occupied.
Kisii Central Police Sub-County Commander Amos Ambasa led the anti riot police.
He declined to speak to journalists.
” I will give a statement later, not now,”he told the Star.
