An Azimio supporter on Monday took to the streets to protest over the high cost of living in the country.

The man wrapped up in a towel and a toothbrush in his mouth was accompanied by his three-year-old son, who also donned a towel.

The man identified as Victor Erick was seen walking in the streets of Kisumu with his son, while holding a banner.

The banner was inscribed with, “Azimio says no to the high cost of living.”

Erick said he is not afraid to bring his child along to protest because it is peaceful and they are not armed.

“I usually come out in a towel, even on election day I was like this, this is how I like to dress up. I do not have any worry about bringing my son along to protest because we are peaceful, we are not armed,” he said.

Protesters in Kisumu took to the streets and lit bonfire near Kisumu bus-park.

This follows a call by Azimio leader Raila Odinga to hold anti-government protests countrywide.

Inspector General of police Japhet Koome on Sunday banned the planned countrywide protests by the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.

The IG said that no one will be allowed to hold demonstrations this week.
