As the investigation into the Shakahola Massacre continues, new evidence has come to light, with over 140 bodies exhumed so far.
According to the police, phone records show that Kesses MP Swarup Mishra, who is also the owner of Mediheal Group of Hospitals, was in frequent communication with the leader of the cult, Pastor Mackenzie.
The police also revealed that postmortem examinations of some of the bodies exhumed from the mass graves indicated that vital organs such as kidneys, hearts and livers were missing.
This makes the investigators suspect that the perpetrators harvested and trafficked the organs of the victims.
Mediheal Group of Hospitals has a history of accusations of illegal organ transplantation activities in Kenya and abroad.
A family once alleged that they removed their relative’s kidney without consent and he died in 2019.
The Shakahola Massacre is one of the most horrific crimes in Kenya’s history, and the involvement of MP Swarup Mishra and Mediheal Hospital in organ trafficking adds another layer of horror and injustice.
This is a developing story and we will continue to follow it closely and bring you more updates as they unfold.
The police are still investigating the matter and arrests are expected soon.
