Revelations have emerged of how technical staff at Kenya Railways are up in arms over what they termed as mistreatment by the institution’s top management.
The technicians have in particular laid blame on the General Philip Mainga whom they accused of refusing to grant them the compulsory annual leave without giving valid reasons.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said DG Mainga has failed to give them a listening ear despite numerous complaints.
“The reality is that he doesn’t listen to anyone. What he says is what happens. It is a sad situation and we can only hope President William Ruto will come to our aid,” said the source.
This publication understands that Mainga could one of the targets by the new administration.
Mainga who worked closely with the previous regime is said to be behind most controversial deals including the SGR.
The sources who have requested for anonymity allege there has been talk to have Mainga out and be replaced with someone who will resonate well with the new administration.
