Fred Aroche quits Radio Jambo after 14 years, joins rival station

Radio Jambo sports commentator Fred Arocho has quit working for Radio Africa Group after 14 years.

In a long post on Facebook, the veteran media personality also disclosed that he is going to join the newly formed Radio 47.

He went on to thank Radio Africa management for the confidence they had in him for the past 14 years.

I cannot believe how time has flown, it’s now 14 yrs since I joined Radio Africa Group, a place I have made home. With great humility, I take this opportunity to formally thank the management for the confidence they bestowed on me while on air and to my fellow staff who made the place a wonderful family for me, Ahsanteni Sana!” He wrote.

In addition to that, he praised Radio Africa Group for everything that they have done from shaping and supporting him.

He also acknowledged the guidance he received from his colleagues at Radio Africa, saying he is leaving the media house with pride and satisfaction.

He went ahead to applaud Carol Radul for helping him discover a side that he never knew existed.

In one of the Interviews, Arocho explained that his encounter with Carol Radul helped him get his first radio job and build a forte in football commentary.

He mentioned that they coincidentally met during a football match where he was protesting an officiating decision.

He joined radio with no prior experience or skills.

But he honed his skills by learning and thus crafted his niche in football commentary and he never imagined that he could work in one of Kenya’s most popular media outlets.
