Fake mechanic charged with vandalism a motorvehicle, stealing vehicle parts worth Sh500,000.

A rogue Mechanic who vandalised a motorvehicle leaving it functionless by stealings it’s parts worth 500,000 has been charged in court.

Geofrey Wamuta was charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Derrick Kuto where he denied the charges.

He damaged the Land cruiser Ex- GK that had been brought at his garage for repair by Davidson Mathenge Githui on diverse dates between January 14 ,2022 and December 9 ,2022at kitisiru estate, Gigiri area in Westlands Sub-county within Nairobi county.

Among the items the accused person stole include Fuel Pump, Magnetic distributor, Nozzle Injector, Alternator, Clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder, Steering box, steering Rod, inition switch , Water Jacket, wiper motor, alternator, clutch sleeve cylinder, LHS head lights, stole the ingine and others as attached below totalling to the said amount.

According to the prosecution, the complainant was introduced to the accused person through a friend and towed the motorvehicle to his garage for repair.

Days later the accused person shared the photo showing that the car was well repaired and was in good condition a fact he knew was false.

The complainant then sent the DCI officers to go and inspect the car and at the same time help him get the Civilian number plates.

It was when that the car was found immobile and functionless .

The accused person had infact vandalized it after it landed at his garage which is located behind international school.

The DCI informed the complainant on the development who informed them to report the matter to the police station.

The accused person was later arrested and arraigned in court where he charged with the.

The complainant lawyer Mr.William Karoki of WKA ADVOCATES told the court that the accused person was a flight risk is released on lenient bond terms.

Karoki who gave a strong objection to the accused person being released on bond terms told the court that the offence was serious and the car was brought to him in good condition.

He urged the court to grant him a tough bond terms for him to easily appear in court.

Karoki’ s ( pictured) sentiments were supported by the prosecution. It told the court that the accused person was a frequent offendor and motorvehicles vandalizers.

The court released him on Sh400,000 cash bail
