Comedian Eric Omondi will be arraigned in a Kisumu court on Thursday.
Omondi was arrested with four others within the lakeside city on Wednesday noon.
According to Kusumi Central OCPD Nicholas Maina they will be charged with holding unlawful assembly.
“We arrested five people including Omondi and they will be arraigned in court on Thursday, “he told the Star on Phone.
Omondi was leading some residents along the Jomo Kenyatta streets protesting over the high cost of living, increased fees and unemployment.
They blocked the streets while lying on the mattresses, a move that forced the police to lob teargas and arrest him.
This is not the first time Omondi is being arrested.
On 3rd April, he was arrested in Nairobi’s Central Business District as he protested against the high cost of living.
He was arrested while adressing a crowd along the busy Kenyatta Avenue outside Bank of India.
